Dr. Yvonne
Dr. Yvonne Schulke is a general dentist passionate about patient care and teamwork. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the College of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University. Dr. Yvonne lives locally in Kronenwetter with her husband, twins, and big ol’ fluffy Bernese mountain dog, Ripley.
Dr. Yvonne's favorite aspect of her work is forming relationships with patients at all stages of life and understanding them as individuals. She believes understanding a patient's dental needs and desires often stems from recognizing their core values and character traits.
When it comes to her team, Dr. Yvonne values the knowledge and skills each member contributes. She enjoys the laughter and humor shared with like-minded colleagues and appreciates the fun work environment they create while ensuring everyone provides the best dental care possible.
From an early age, Dr. Yvonne knew she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, although she initially wasn't sure which specific area to pursue. After exploring various options, she found her passion in dentistry despite fainting the first time she watched a root canal. Her interest and determination led her to love the artistry, engineering aspects, chemistry, and, most importantly, the patient connections in dentistry.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Yvonne enjoys getting lost in a good book, being outdoors, camping, snowmobiling, and spending time at the lake. She has a unique hobby of transforming ordinary, plain stainless steel tumblers into original creations using various mediums such as glitter, alcohol inks, paint, and vinyl, finished with epoxy. However, being a mom and spending time with her family is nearest and dearest to her heart.
Dr. Yvonne is almost always humming or singing if there is music nearby. She has a background in choir and show choir (singing and dancing) and has performed at weddings and school events. It's common to find her humming in the office while working!
Shara
Office Manager and Insurance Specialist
Shara is our office manager and insurance specialist at Afresh Dental Health. Since joining the dental field in 2007, she’s been dedicated to keeping the office running smoothly and answering any patient and staff questions.
Shara’s favorite part of her job is seeing patients' smiling faces and working with our team. She loves the camaraderie and fun atmosphere in the office, where everyone gets along, jokes around, and enjoys helping patients smile.
Educated at Fox Valley Technical College, Shara finds the dental field incredibly rewarding. She’s passionate about helping people improve their smiles and confidence.
Outside work, Shara enjoys spending time up north, fishing, attending sporting events and concerts, traveling, and visiting casinos. A fun fact about Shara is that she dreams of having a hobby farm with fainting goats, miniature ponies, teacup mini cows, and miniature pigs.
Denise
Registered Dental Hygienist
Denise is a dedicated and friendly registered dental hygienist at Afresh Dental Health. She’s passionate about making dental visits a positive experience and helping patients improve their oral health. Denise's journey in dentistry started in 1991 as a dental assistant. Inspired by an amazing hygienist she had as a teenager, she went back to school and graduated from Madison College in 1997 as a dental hygienist.
In 2006, Denise moved to Wausau with her family, and in August 2022, she joined Afresh Dental Health. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to patient care to the practice. Denise loves working with her team to provide top-notch dental care. She enjoys the teamwork and the shared goal of giving each patient the best treatment possible while ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for.
Outside of work, Denise loves spending time outdoors. Whether fishing and pontooning on the water or bow hunting in the woods, she finds joy in nature. She also enjoys flower gardening and has a passion for snowmobiling.
Brooke
Registered Dental Hygienist
Brooke joined our team as a hygienist in July 2024. She studied at Northcentral Technical College, where she first completed the Dental Assisting Program in 2016 and later earned her degree in Dental Hygiene in May 2022.
Brooke's love for dental care began in childhood. Each time she visited the dentist as a child, she was mesmerized by her dentist and hygienist's tools and techniques. Her excitement and passion for dental care inspired her to pursue dental hygiene as a career.
Brooke enjoys building strong relationships with her patients and creating personalized goals to help them improve their oral health. She also values the supportive environment and working with Dr. Schulke and the team.
Outside of work, Brooke enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and watching movies. She is also teaching herself how to crochet and is a big baseball fan.
Jessica
Dental Assistant
Jessica is our dedicated dental assistant at Afresh Dental Health. She started her career in dentistry in 2018 and joined our team in 2022. Jessica received her training on the job in Twentynine Palms, CA, and uses those skills daily to care for our patients.
Jessica loves building strong relationships with both her patients and team members. Our office's supportive and friendly atmosphere makes it easy for everyone to work well together and have fun while providing excellent care. Jessica stumbled into the dental field by chance but quickly fell in love with it and finds her work very rewarding.
Jessica and her fiancé are avid travelers who love hiking and exploring national parks. Having traveled across most of the U.S., Jessica enjoys camping, fishing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. Jessica and her fiancé also have a unique hobby of visiting and checking off all the Supper Clubs in Wisconsin.
A huge music fan, Jessica has a special love for classic rock. She enjoys learning about artists, song origins, and meanings, a passion inspired by her dad. Each year, she attends concerts and music festivals, including the Blue Ox Bluegrass Festival, and she never misses a chance to see Dave Matthews Band live.
Sierra
Dental Assistant
Sierra is a dental assistant who received her training on the job, working alongside a mentor dental assistant with over 10 years of experience. Sierra began her career in dentistry in 2023 and found her home at Afresh Dental Health in 2024. Inspired by her mother, a lifelong dental hygienist, Sierra grew up immersed in the world of dental care and decided to follow in her footsteps. She finds great satisfaction in helping others and contributing to their confidence through their smiles.
In her free time, Sierra enjoys a wide range of hobbies, including camping, hiking, snowboarding, attending concerts, playing video games, practicing yoga, swimming, and taking care of her plants.
Maigao
Patient Services Coordinator
Maigao is our patient services coordinator at Afresh Dental Health, where she serves as the frontline liaison between the dental team and patients. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in dentistry, and she has been in the field since 2020. Maigao joined Afresh Dental Health in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to patient care.
Maigao received her education at Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, WI, where she honed the skills necessary for her role. Her favorite aspect of her job is working as part of a team to help patients improve and feel confident about their smiles.
Outside of work, Maigao enjoys camping, binge-watching movies and TV shows, and playing cornhole. A fun fact that not many people know about her is that she was not born in the U.S.
Susan
Bookkeeper
Susan serves as the bookkeeper at Afresh Dental Health, where her responsibilities include bill payments, payroll, and assisting with posting insurance payments. Susan received her high school diploma from DC Everest High School and participated in a co-op program in office occupations, gaining valuable on-the-job training. She began her journey in the dental field in 2014 and continued her service with the transition of the practice to new ownership under Dr. Yvonne at Afresh Dental Health in July 2024.
Susan was initially drawn to the dental field while seeking part-time work and found an opening in a dental office that perfectly fit her personality and interests. One of Susan's favorite aspects of her job is her team's collaborative spirit. She enjoys camaraderie and mutual support that helps them accomplish their tasks efficiently.
Outside of work, Susan loves spending time relaxing by the lake. She enjoys walking and playing with her beloved Pomeranian, Moxey, who has been her companion for almost 15 years. Susan is passionate about long drives and soaking in the beautiful Wisconsin scenery.
